Islamabad: The Apex Court has again summoned disgraced Senator Nehal Hashmi in personal capacity today Wednesday for using abusive language against judiciary after release in contempt case.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar head the intra-court appeal of Nehal Hashmi against contempt of court case.
Moreover, the court rejected the objections of Nehal Hashmi’s counsel against bench and also overturned his request of establishing larger bench.
During hearing Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar stated that why don’t we extend the punishment of Hashmi or lodge case against him. He also suggested to issue another contempt of court notice to former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader.
It was worth mentioned here that Nehal Hashmi was sentenced to one-month in prison with a fine worth Rs 50,000 in a suo moto notice taken by CJP after he delivered a tirade against judges and members of Panamagate Joint Investigation Team (JIT) for holding PML-N founder Nawaz Sharif accountable in a corruption probe.
