Islamabad:(Noor Faraz Khattak) Model village ‘Frash Town’ once a thriving residential colony has been turned into ruins as concerned authorities’ apathy and ignorance has rendered it worthless for its inhabitants who were forced to live a life without the basic amenities like drinking water and sanitation.
According to residents there is not a proper water supply arrangement, Sui-gas and electricity system in the colony. They said that during Kamran Lashari’s tenure as the CDA chairman three tube wells were approved to provide the provision of safe drinking water to residents but so far work has not been initiated even on a single tube well despite the passage of several years. They said that WAPDA has been providing electricity to other societies in surrounding areas from its Feeders, which they said were meant to provide electricity to Farash Town. They said that due to non issuance of ownership rights, residents were facing severe difficulties in getting gas and electricity connections.
Talking to this correspondent the residents including Nadeem Qureshi, Ishtiaq Tanoli, Manzoor Alvi and others complained that there was no proper sewerage system as a result parks have turned into large heap of garbage.
