Rawalpindi: District Sports Department Rawalpindi has finalized International Women Day events to be simultaneously held at Shahbaz Sharif Sports Complex and Government Post Graduate College for Women, 6th Road, Rawalpindi.
District Sports Officer, Rawalpindi Abdul Waheed Babar informed that in connection with International Women Day, Sports competitions of volley ball, badminton and table tennis will be held at both venues. He further informed that six teams will participate in Inter-Collegiate sports events while more than 50 girl players will take part in different team events. Abdul Waheed Babar said that women elected representatives of Rawalpindi, women sports officials and large number of women players will participate the opening ceremony of International Women Day Sports festival. He said that under the directives of DC Rawalpindi Talat Mehmud Gondal, elaborate arrangements had been made to organize the events in a befitting manner with the objective to provide opportunity to girl players to demonstrate their talents.
