SC rejects petition against former PM Nawaz Sharif

Islamabad : The Supreme Court has dismissed the petition filed against Nawaz Sharif about powers of local bodies representatives on the basis of its ineffectiveness.
A three-member bench of apex court headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has conducted the hearing of the petition filed against Nawaz Sharif (then Prime Minister).
The petitioner has adopted that orders to empower local bodies representatives have not been implemented.
The CJ has observed while announcing the verdict that petition was about the elections of local bodies and now it has become ineffective.
The CJ has conducted the in-chamber hearing of petition about the accountability of top military bureaucracy and judiciary against the objections of registrar office. The CJ while maintaining the objections of registrar office has dismissed the petition.
The petitioner, Chairman Watan Party Barrister Zafar-ul-lah had filed an application against the objections of registrar office on his petition.
The petitioner in his petition has requested to include the words of “Sadiq” and “Ameen” in code of conduct of judges, however the registrar office had raised an objection over it.
