Ottawa: High Commissioner Tariq Azim Khan called on George Furey, Speaker ofCanadian Senate here Thursday to exchange views on overall relations between Pakistan and Canada.
The High Commissioner briefed him on the security situation in the region and the latest economic developments in Pakistan that provides an excellent opportunities for foreign direct investment. He added that during the last two years, the bilateral trade has been doubled and there is still a lot of
potential to enhance it further.
The Speaker while welcoming the High Commissioner said that the democratic institutions of the two counties should benefit from bilateral and commonwealth related exchanges. He also appreciated the role of Pakistani diaspora in this multi-cultural society. He expressed the hope that the friendly relations between the two countries will continue to deepen in future.
