Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, A D Khawaja Thursday submitted report in the Supreme Court regarding Naqeeb Mehsud killing case.
The report submitted by IGP Sindh is consisting of seven pages. It said that phone record of close aides of Rao Anwar including, ASI Khair Muhammad, Sub Inspector Muhammad Unar, Constable Gadda Hussain and others’ was checked.
The report said that police encounter held on January 13, 2018 was fake in the prima-facie. The victim, Naqeeb-ullah Mehsud along with his friends was picked from a hotel on January 03 and all persons were kept in illegal detention.
Qasim and Hazrat Ali, friends of Naqeeb Mehsud were released on January 06 while Naqeeb Mehsud was killed in a fake police encounter in the prima-facie. It said record presented before the committee was not related to Naqeeb Mehsud.
It was further told in the police report that profile of Naqeeb Mehsud was also reviewed. It said that victim Naqeeb was not involved in any terrorism related activity while police officers continued shifting slain Naqeeb Mehsud from one place to another where he was also tortured.
Ex-SSP Malir, Rao Anwaar did not appear before the committee despite frequent calls and also made a bid to flee from the country on a fake document. The police report said that case has been registered against Rao Anwaar and efforts were on for his arrest.
