Islamabad: The confrontation for the apex post in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) has started once again on the retirement of administrator.
The Pro Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University, some 10 days earlier, has issued the notification that Dr Amjad Pomi would be next administrator.
Former Administrator Dr Altaf Hussain, who got his retirement on 20th January (Saturday), but he handed over his charge to Director OPD Dr Mutahir Shah on the last day of his service.
The sources said that the senior doctor of PIMS Dr. Abid Farooqui has refused to comply with the orders of Pro Vice Chancellor SZABMU. He took the stand that this post falls under Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) and it has not issued any notification yet for the next administrator. He is that Pro VC has not any authority to issue notification.
When outgoing administrator Dr Altaf Hussain was contacted he said that CADD has not issued any notification so far in this regard so he gave the temporary charge to Dr. Mutahir Shah before going home on superannuation. He said that the CADD would issue notification for the permanent administrator later.
