Islamabad: The former convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Pak chapter and senior vice president of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Mehmood Ahmed Saghar on Friday condemned the ED authorities for summoning Dr. Bilquees to its office in New Delhi and termed the move as a scare tactic to pressurize and terrorize the incarcerated party chairman Shabir Ahmed Shah and his family.
In a press statement the DFP leader said that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) were working on the whims and fantasies of BJP government to pressurize resistance leadership. “The scare-tactics is being used as a tool to force him (Shah) into submission”, he said adding that Shabir Ahmed Shah who had devoted his entire life for Kashmir cause and endured imprisonment of more than 30 years won’t be cowed down by such bullying tactics.
The resistance leadership he said would never be deterred by such mean tactics. Expressing grave concern over the latest ED summon to Dr Bilques he said that it was a politically motivated move, devoid of any legal and moral justification. “The only motive behind dragging Dr. Bilquees in such a fabricated and baseless case, which was actually settled by an Indian court way back in 2005, is nothing but to make matters worse so as to pro-long the detention of Shabir Ahmed Shah”, Saghar said.
Saghar also voiced serious concern over the declining health condition of Shabir Ahmed Shah in Tihar Jail and demanded the international human rights organization to take effective notice of the miserable plight of Shah and other Kashmiri prisoners languishing different Indian jails.
