MIRPUR (AJK): Expressing grave concern over the day to day crackdowns in nook and corner of the Indian occupied Kashmir, Jammu Kashmir National Front Wednesday said New Delhi was using coercive and cowardly tactics to crush the people’s aspirations in the held state.

“It is jailing people, restricting them to their houses, conducting crackdowns on the pattern of nineties and claims that peace is prevailing in the disputed region”, a JKNF spokesperson said while talking to reporters here Wednesday evening.

The spokesperson continued that the fact of the matter was that India has managed the silence of graveyard in the disputed region by arresting genuine political leadership including National Front chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan in concocted cases and filling jails with youths.

“The irony is that the imprisonment of leaders like Nayeem Khan is being prolonged using judiciary. This situation is absolutely undemocratic and unethical as Kashmiri people are not demanding anything in the skies”, he said adding “they are just demanding for the fulfillment of the promises made with them at local and international levels”.

“The National Front strongly condemns the prolonging the hearing on bail application of incarcerated senior resistance leader and Freedom Party chairman Shabir Shah”, said the spokespersons.

The party’s spokesperson said that hundreds of Kashmiri prisoners in and outside Jammu Kashmir jails are going through tough times as courts are not willing to hear their cases on regular basis though the said prisoners are undergoing imprisonment since long.

The spokesperson said that his party has also appealed to the local and international rights organizations to take notice of the plight of Kashmiri prisoners in the occupied valley

Expressing serious concern over the plight of Kashmiri prisoners including its chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, National Front spokesperson said that as per law prisoners have their particular rights but in India every Kashmiri political prisoner is seen as a criminal.
