RAWALPINDI: Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Tallat Mehmood Gondal has inaugurated anti-polio campaign today by vaccinating minors under 05 year in camp office. He said that with the coordinated efforts of all government departments we have not witness any polio affected case in Rawalpindi from last 07 years. Furthermore he added that provision of healthy environment to our people is our foremost priority however harmonized efforts of both government departments and community are needed to make the region Polio free.DC said thatanti-polio campaigns have been propelled in the district frequently under strict monitoring and they are also launching awareness campaigns in this regard to address the reservations of people and myths attached to it which has so far affected the results of anti-polio activities.
Chief Executive Officer Heath Authority Muhammad Sohail Ahmed Chaudhry, District Officer Health Dr. Abdul Jabbar, Dr. Sarwat coordinator WHO, Dr Uzma Hayat, Communication Officer Bushra, representative of Allied departments and other concerned officers were also present at this occasion.
Sharing details of arrangement for Anti-Polio Campaign 15 January to 19 January 2018, CEO health Muhammad Sohail Ahmed Chaudhry said that a target to vaccinate 08 Lac 40 Thousand children of below 05 age has been fixed for which 221 UC MOs and 496 Area-incharge have been appointed. Moreover, 2333 Mobile Teams and 287 Fixed Points and 119 Transit Points have been established. CEO health further added that total 2739 teams have been designated for this task and health officer will monitor the progress of campaign and security of polio workers to be arranged as well.
