RAWALPINDI: Judge Raja Pervez Akhtar of a Control of Narcotics Substances (CNS) Court Rawalpindi has sought assistance from lawyers on certain important legal points in ephedrine case against former MNA, Hanif Abbasi.
The court inquired from ANF counsel that first of all they should make court clear on the matter that how the Razia Bakhtawri, a partner of Hanif Abbasi was separated from the case after nominating her as accused therein first.
All the 8 accused persons including Grace pharma owner Hanif Abbasi, his brother Basit Abbasi, factory manager Siraj Ahmad Abbasai were present in the court.
When counsel for Hanif Abbasi started his arguments, the court once again inquired what action was taken in this case against Razia Bakhtawri, partner of Hanif Abbasi because she is nominated as accused in the case but no mention has been made in the challan whether she is accused or witness.
The prosecutor took the plea dispute was running between Hanif Abbasi and Razia Zahid Bakhtawri since 2009 and she had sent a legal notice toHanif Abbasi in this regard.
Razia Bakhtawri was of the view that she was not involved in this entire matter in any way because she is not consulted. Razia Bakhtawri was owner of the plot upon which Hamas Pharmaceutical company had constructed factory. Therefore she was a sleeping partner in this perspective.
The court further inquired how the matters kept on running for five year after issuance of notice in 2009. Was it having Razia Bakhtawri signatures when quota was allotted.
The court maintained this point be explained in details before final arguments on next hearing.
Counsel for Hanif Abbasi prayed the court the factory of his client stands fully closed due to freezing of his bank accounts, therefore, the freezed accounts be restored immediately.
The court while adjourning the hearing of the case till January 22 remarked that this matter be put to arguments on next hearing.
