Karachi: Sindh Rangers and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) have s arrested over a dozen of terrorists affiliated with banned Tehreek E Taliban Pakistan (TTP) besides recovering a large amount of ammunition during a joint operation in Suhrab Goth area of Karachi.
According to Rangers spokesperson, CTD and Rangers launched operation in Gana Mandi and Mominabad areas on information that the terrorists who had fled two days earlier during encounter were hiding therein.
He said that the entry and the exit points of the areas were sealed and a house to house search operation took place. He claimed that after hours long operation, Rangers and CTD arrested 16 terrorists allegedly linked to TTP.
He said that the arrested terrorists fled from Baldia two days earlier during an operation. A large amount of weapons, bombs and ammunition have also been recovered from the terrorists.
According to Rangers spokesperson, the arrested terrorists belong to Ustad Aslam group of TTP. A list of the arrested terrorists was also released by the Rangers showing arrest of Rafi Ullah alias Qari, Abdul Majid alias Mufti, Younis alias Annas, M Razzaq alias Shalldada, Shams ul Huda alias Molvi, Umer Khaliq alias Hussain, M Junaid alias Abdul Mannan, Junaid Ahmed, Khan Bahadur, Abdul Ghaffar alias Abu Huraira, Zain Ul Abidin alias Siddiqui, Saif Ullah alias Saifu, M Asif alias Dr Langra, Sana Ullah alias Sana, Abdul Aziz alias Kamran and Umer Ali Zargar.
Spokesman informed that all the arrested terrorists were handed over to CTD. It is worth mentioning here that Karachi police claimed killing 5 terrorists of ISIS earlier this week during an operation in outskirts of the city. A Malaysian citizen was also arrested on Quaid I Azam International Airport and a major terrorist bid was foiled on December 23, 2017.
