Mashal Khan murder case: Absconding suspect arrested after 8 months

Mardan: The police apprehended on Thursday one of the few remaining suspects in the Mashal Khan murder case.
Mardan District Police Officer (DPO) Mian Saeed said on Thursday that Izhar alias Johnny was arrested from Saddar area of Mardan on an intelligence tip-off and also recovered a Kalashnikov and a pistol from the possession of the suspect.
It worth mentioning here that Mashal was killed on April 13 by a violent mob on the pretext of committing blasphemy at Abdul Wali Khan University in Mardan.
A court in KP had indicted 57 culprits while Mardan Police nominated 61 accused in this case of whom according to information after adding fresh arrest a total of 58 suspects are in custody whereas three including a elected councilor are still absconding, the DPO told the media.
