Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir is all set to observe 5th January as right to self-determination day with a renewed pledge to project and promote Kashmir cause at both national and international level.
Arrangements, for observance of the day, have been finalized. A meeting in this regard was held here on Wednesday, which was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Muzaffarabad Masood ur Rehman on the direction of Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (PM AJK) Raja Mohammad Farooq Haider Khan
The meeting was attended by Director Kashmir Liberation Cell Raja Sajjad Latif, DPI Colleges Dr. Khawaja Abdul Rehman, DEO (M) Raja Iftikhar, Information Officer Asif Hussain Naqvi, DSP Riaz Mughal, AC Asim Khalid Awan, AEO Farhat Shaheen and Ms. Firdous Shaheen.
On the occasion, DC directed all district officers to commemorate the right to self-determination day and ensure massive participation followed by a rally. He said that the main event on the day will be held at 9 am in district complex Muzaffarabad which will be presided by Prime Minister Raja Mohammad Farooq Haider Khan.
He added that a rally will be held from District Complex to Shaheed Burhan Muzaffar Wani Chowk led by the Prime Minister, “arrangements were reviewed in the meeting and finalized.” DC added.
It may be recalled here that Right of Self-determination is commemorated in memorial of the UNCIP resolutions adopted on 5th January 1948, calling for a free, fair and impartial plebiscite in the disputed state.
