Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry paid surprised visit to the Benazir Bhutto, Hospital Rawalpindi on Monday.
He visited causality department and inquired about the medical facilities and provision of medicines to the patients admitted in the Emergency. Additional Commissioner (Coordination) Tariq Salam Marwat accompanied him.
The commissioner Rawalpindi inspected public toilet of the causality department and directed Director Dr. Muhammad Rafique, head of Causality department to ensure regular cleanliness of toilets and corridors of Emergency. He also inspected other sections of new and old emergency of BBH including the medical store. He noted that sealed packed syringes were being used in the hospital.
He expressed dissatisfaction over the security system of hospital and directed Medical Superintendent Dr. Arshad Sabir to ensure effective security and monitoring system in the hospital so that the mobility of all persons in the vicinity of hospital could be kept under constant surveillance.
During the visit of officers’ ward area he was briefed by Medical Superintendent that a new block would be constructed at this place after approval of development scheme. He apprised that various options are under consideration to make best use of the building. The commissioner Rawalpindi said that new ward for patients can be the best option of this place due to high number of patients.
During visit of hospital, he also asked the patients in other departments of BBH about the standards of medical services who expressed their satisfaction.The measures for the improvement in the health delivery services also came under discussion during the visit. It was informed that huge development funds had been spent on expansion as well as improvement projects in BBH.
