Srinagar: Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani on Wednesday condemned in strong terms the indiscriminate use of pellets against civilians and blinding youth” in Shopian.
In a statement, Geelani said, “Blinding and maiming is inhuman, most condemnable and a barbarous act.” “The use of lethal weapons is worst, most beastly, brutal and unbearable”, said Geelani.
He condemned pellet firing over civilians and said that Pervaiz Ahmad Dar, Imran Muneer, Feroz Ahmad and dozens of others were the victims of a deadly weapon used nowhere else in the world.
“The fact remains unchanged, Kashmir is the only place in the world where these weapons are used against human beings,” he said.
Geelani said that people everywhere in the world come on roads to express their anger and dissatisfaction and register their protest but the law enforcing agencies nowhere use the lethal and deadly weapons against its own people.
Lashing at authorities for “vandalism and heartless approach”, Geelani said that there is no let-up in killings. “Resistance leaders are caged and detained on one pretext or the other and even barred to mourn these killings.”
