JI expresses solidarity with Christian community

Lahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has expressed solidarity with the Christian community in the country and expressed deep grief over the terrorist attack at a Quetta church causing life of life.
Talking to the members of the Christian community in the city on Monday, he said that attack at Church close to the Christmas was an en eye opener. He said one could easily understand whose agenda it could be to cause a confrontation between the Muslim majority and the Christian minority. He urged the nation to stand united against all forms of terrorism and mischief.

While talking to a delegation of lawyers, he said the tug of war between the bench and the bar was creating numerous problems and the Supreme Court Bar and the High Court Bars should take immediate steps to normalize the situation.
Liaqat Baloch said that an independent and active judiciary was essential to wipe out corruption and for accountability. He termed the statement of the Chief Justice Saqib Nisar as most encouraging and added that the JI would continue to play its role for the independence of the judiciary. He stressed that the decision of the courts should be transparent and impartial. At the same time, he said, it was imperative to build a culture of accepting the decisions of an independent judiciary.

He appreciated that the PTI Secretary General Jehangir Tareen had set a good example by accepting the court verdict against him gracefully and added that everybody had the right to appeal under the law.
