Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz return to Pakistan on Sunday after spending over 10 days in London.
They arrived at the Lahore airport and departed for their residence Jati Umra and were warmly received by the party members.
Earlier in a media interaction at London airport on Saturday, the former premier said that the top court’s verdict in petitions against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan and secretary general Jahangir Tareen proved partisanship in justice served by the top court.
He asserted that a strong movement would be launched by PML-N for rule of law and constitution.
It is pertinent to mention here that the family had flown to London on December 5 to visit ailing Kulsoom Nawaz who is undergoing treatment for lymphoma at a London hospital.
Nawaz’s departure came after an accountability court exempted Nawaz Sharif from appearance in hearings for a week and rejected the same plea of Maryam Nawaz while maintaining her exemption till December 15.
On the other hand, IHC rejected Nawaz Sharif’s pleas seeking merger of all three NAB references against him and directed accountability court to continue trial against the Sharif family.
