ISLAMABAD: Intermittent rain with snowfall over the hills continued in Upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Tuesday, as mercury dropped to minus 7 degree centigrade.
A Met Office spokesman said that the current rain spell will persist for another two days.
Cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in most parts of Balochistan, Sindh including Karachi during the week.
Two to three spells of rainfall are expected in different parts of the country this month with snowfall over the mountainous areas.
More rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at scattered places in upper KP, upper FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, while at isolated places in upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sargodha divisions) and Islamabad.
Cold and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country. Foggy conditions are likely over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during morning hours.
