Islamabad: (Parliament Times) Chairman Kashmir Council Europe (EU) on Tuesday arrived in Islamabad on a weeklong visit to Pakistan and Azad Kashmir.
During his stay in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir, Mr Ali Raza Syed will have meetings with the political figures and will inform them regarding struggle on Kashmir issue in Europe specially awareness movement of Kashmir Council EU through various programs on the issue.
It is worth to mention here that the ‘Kashmir Council EU’ arranges Conferences and seminars, debates and meetings with the Members of EU Parliament (MEPs) and officials of European Union besides organizing exhibitions of Kashmiri handicraft and photographs in Europe. One million signature campaign initiated by the council also continues in the different EU’s countries.
On his arrival in Pakistan, Ali Raza Syed said that the basic objective of holding these events was to raise awareness in Europe regarding the solution of Kashmir conflict, besides exposing Indian state terrorism and its brutalities in Kashmir.
He said, “We have informed the international community specially EU regarding uprisings in Indian Held Kashmir (IHK). India is involved in killing of innocent people in Kashmir. Use of brutal force by Indian forces in Indian Held Kashmir has so far caused killing of a large number of people in IHK. Last year, hundreds of the people wounded and lost their eyes due to pellet guns used by the Indian occupation forces”.
Chairman of the Council Ali Raza Syed said, we have urged the EU and international community to stop human rights violations in IHK and facilitate in peaceful settlement of Kashmir dispute. The council, he said, arranged numerous programs throughout the year in Europe specially Belgium, the EU headquarters. “An annual week long program on Kashmir “Kashmir EU Week” at European parliament in Brussels is one of the unique events of the council in Europe. People from different walks of life including MEPs, EU officials, intellectuals and experts attend the various segments of the program”, he maintained.
