LAHORE: Pakistan Railways is planning to enhance capacity of its academies that impart technical training to its staff with the collaboration of the national universities.
According to an official, Pakistan Railways is working on a number of steps to improve performance and capacity building of its staff aimed at ensuring safe and smooth operations of the national fleet.
He said Railways has set up a separate wing of Research and Development Centre at Pakistan Railway Academy in Walton, Lahore comprising state of the art labs with the facility for designing, development and management of Railway infrastructure and operations.
The official said that agreements for technical collaboration with Korean Rail Road Research Institute and Chinese Training Institutes are being explored.
