Islamabad: (Parliament Times) Due to absence of law for the private laboratories in Islamabad, poor patients are suffering , while the doctors in connivance of owners of these laboratories are looting the patients.
Almost all the private labs are equipped with substandard tools. Prominent labs of the city charge normal test fee from 5000 rupees to upward which is beyond the reach of common man.
According to details as there is no SOP and the owners of the labs charge fee of their own discretion. And charge blood CP from 200 rupees to 300 rupees. But private prominent labs charge for this test starting from 1500 rupees and are using substandard machines and chemicals which are providing wrong reports. If you visit the labs other than the doctors prescription, the doctors reject the tests outrightly. In the labs generally there are not qualified staffers.
According to a survey of the residents of G-7, G-8 and F-6 Sheikh Manzoor, Sabir Khan and Gulshan Bibi have demanded Chief Justice of Supreme Court to take suo motu of the matter and order crack down against the such illegal labs and fix standard rates for all the tests.
