Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought reply from Ministry of Petroleum (MOP) and OGRA for not implementing the prices announced by Council of Common Interests (CCI).
Justice Shahid Jamil of Lahore High Court has heard the case. The petitioner advocate Sardar Qasim Farooq stance was that CCI has fixed maximum prices of LPG despite this LPG is being sold at higher rates. He said according to court order following the enquiry responsible persons have not been pin pointed. He said citizens are facing a lot of problems due to price hike. He said Ministry of Petroleum and OGRA in connivance with the mafia has caused price hike. He said MD of Petroleum Ministry Wasiq Bukhari has ignored the court orders and should tender unconditional apology in the court.
At this the court remarked that no high profile officer is bigger than the judiciary. He said no excuse is valid for not implementing the court order. The court accepted the apology of the MD and advised him to be careful in future.
The advocate of Pakistan Petroleum Ltd. Mustafa Ramdey has said that OGRA is authority to fix the prices of LPG.
