Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) While paying eulogizing tributes to the poet of the East Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the Chief Justice of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Justice Muhammad Ibraheem Zia has said that Iqbal’s poetry was nothing but interpretation of the Holy Quran and the life of prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Justice Zia made these assertions while addressing an annual Literary Conference hosted by Allama Iqbal Open University- Muzarrarabad Branch here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion the chief judge said, “In South Asia, Allama Iqbal’s poetry is the milestone in Urdu as well as Persian literature”.
Terming Iqbal as a great thinker and philosopher, Justice Zia said that Iqbal gave an all new direction to Urdu poetry, which he said laid lasting but pleasant imprints on the upcoming literature. He said that the Dr. Iqbal’s message thought and teachings were universal and for all humankind. “Following Iqbal’s ideals, we can play better and strong role as far as the nation building is concerned”, he said.
The Literary Conference was also addressed by AIOU regional director Prof. M Zubair Sajid, renowned intellectual M Akram Suhail, Masood Qureshi and others.
