Islamabad: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Justice (R ) Javed Iqbal has decided to launch grand operation against mafia of housing societies situated in federal capital.
Top officials of NAB told that the decision to launch massive operation was aimed at recovering looted billions of rupees from the innocent people. NAB has also sought report from Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) for not taking action against 110 housing societies while CDA has already declared the said housing societies as illegal and asked the masses to avoid making investment in these housing societies.
Administration of these housing societies have minted billions of rupees in the name of plots but now were reluctant to allot plots and repay money. The newly appointed Chairman NAB has decided to take stern action against these fake housing societies.
Sources said that Chairman CDA has been instructed to provide details of those employees who were involved in looting money with the connivance of societies’ mafia. Chairman NAB has also sought report from DG NAB Rawalpindi for not taking action against the land mafia..
Despite repeated efforts to contact CDA Chairman Sheikh Ansar Aziz to know his stance, it was not possible to take his version on the issue. It is worth to mention that Sheikh Ansar Aziz was a well-known contractor before assuming charge of Mayor and Chairman CDA.
