Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, High Court Bar Association has described the notice to the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Mohammad Yasin Malik and two others by the Enforcement Directorate in a 17-year-old case as contrary to law and aimed at teasing, torturing and humiliating pro-freedom Kashmiri leadership.
The Bar Association in a statement said the notice has been issued in a case pending trial in a court at Jammu, in which the court has granted bail to Malik, after being prima facie satisfied that he is not involved any crime.
The association also condemned the beating of six members of a family by Indian soldiers in Habber Lassipora village of Khag Tehsil Beerwah. Four of the members sustained serious injuries and had to be rushed for medical treatment. The troops also ransacked houses and beat innocent civilians in Hardu Dalwan of Charar-e-Sharief and Devas Khahipora of Arizal area.
The Bar Association demanded that all those, who were responsible for these barbaric and inhuman acts, should be brought to book and punished under law.
