Iqbal Day: Pakistan to celebrate 140th birthday of national poet on 9 Nov

Islamabad: The nation will celebrate the 140th birth anniversary of national poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal on November 9 with traditional zeal and fervor across the country.
In line with media reports, special prayers will be held in the mosques for the peace, national integrity, prosperity and development of the country.
Iqbal Manzil’s caretaker said that the main birthday cake cutting ceremony would be held at the Iqbal Manzil where people from all walks of life will participate and the students of different schools and colleges and their teachers will visit the Iqbal Manzil where Kalaam-e-Iqbal and speech contests will be held.
Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal was born on 9 November 1877 in Sialkot, within the Punjab Province of British India (now in Pakistan). He died on 21 April 1938 in Lahore, Punjab, British India.
Pakistan government officially declared him the national poet.
Imran Khan slams PM Abbasi for giving Nawaz Sharif’s protocol:
Islamabad November 2(Online): Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Thursday lashed out at Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi over the protocol provided to ousted premier Nawaz Sharif on his return to Pakistan.
In a series of tweets, Khan termed it is shameful to provide protocol to a discredited PM who is facing corruption charges.
He questioned the approval of Sharif’s protocol and stay at Punjab House by PM Abbasi at tax payer expense.
Imran Khan accused PM Abbasi of aiding Nawaz Sharif in protecting the money laundered abroad.
The PTI chief also slammed Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for glamorizing the corruption of Sharifs by endowing them with protocol.
