Ascertain reasons making atmosphere favorable for dengue breeding: Khwaja Salman

Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) Provincial Minister for Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Punjab Khawaja Slaman Rafique along-with Dr. Waseem Advisor to CM Punjab on Dengue Program paid a visit to Kotha Kallan UC 80 Dhok Chodriyan in wake of the complaints of suspecting abundant Dengue Larva in this area. While going through the field activities of anti-dengue campaign workers’ they issued necessary directions for further improvement. Khawaja Salman Rafique likewise directed MD WASA to ensure accessibility of water supply at regular basis in said area keeping in mind the end goal to make individuals limited from pointless water stockpiling. Besides adopting all such preventive measures of destroying larva, keep a vigilant eye on the reasons that make atmosphere favorable for dengue breeding, he added. Furthermore, Dr. Waseem Advisor to CM Punjab on Dengue Program shared that the joint endeavors against Dengue have been proved productive and circumstances are under control in Rawalpindi region. He said that lone 84 dengue affected patients have been accounted for here so far which is a rapturous however we need to remain alert as outbreak of Dengue Virus in KPK and free movement of people here can cause the spread of virus.
After visit they held a meeting with heads of all departments in Commissioner Office Rawalpindi and reviewed their monthly activities in detail. Dr. Fayyaz Butt CEO Health while presenting detailed report of monthly field activities said that indoor and outdoor surveillances are given prime concentration and long-term initiatives are being taken to deal with Dengue Virus. Additional Deputy Commissioner Arif Raheem, Assistant Commissioner Tasneem Ali Khan, Chief Executive Officer Health Dr. Fayyaz Butt, District Officer Health Dr. Abdul Jabbar, CO District Council Ashraf Marth, MD WASA, Director Livestock and Dairy Development, representatives of PITB and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
