Karachi : A chipboard factory has caught fire near Shafiq Mor in North Karachi. Fire has been extinguished after 11 hours while cooling process continues.
According to details the fire started at 6 p.m. Sunday and within a short span of time engulfed the whole building. The third degree fire has destroyed goods worth millions of rupees. Nine fire tenders have been pressed into service to bring the fire under control. The factory owner has blamed the fire brigade for spread of fire.
Chief Fire Officer said that following the knocking down of shed of godown the site was inaccessible. He said nine fire tenders, four water bowsers, two starcles and one tanker participated to extingsh the fire. Pakistan Navy has also took part in the operation. Blame game continued amongst all the stakeholders.
