Citizens demand allotment of plots in Langerpura, Thotha housing schemes

Muzaffarabad: Langerpura-Thotha Satellite town housing schemes remained in limbo despite the passage of several years. Out of total 2057 plots, 1322 plots have already been allotted. Citizens of Muzaffarabad will get only 735 plots via lucky draw.
According to details, allotments of plots in Langerpura and Thotha satellite town have been delayed so far due to many reasons.
A delegation consists of 30 members of civil citizen met Minister for Education and MCDP Barrister Iftikhar Gillani on this issue here on Sunday. It has been observed that after the completion of these two housing schemes, total number of plots was 3200 which were later decreased to 2400 and then 2057 respectively.
It has been revealed that there are only 735 plots left for public and rest are either been allotted to previous owners or given on favoritism and nepotism.
There were 5 catogories designed regarding allotment of plots, one of the category mentions that anyone from AJK can apply to acquire these plot but it was mentioned before that only domicile holders of Muzaffarabad can apply.
It has been also revealed that some bureaucrats and politicians have also acquired plots due to which this process was delayed. Victims of earthquake are still expecting to get these plots.
Anomalies in acquisition process of plots is also noticed for those who bought from locals. Lucky draw for the allotment of remaining 735 plots is expected in next month.
Committee for allotment of plots consists of Minister for Education/MCDP Barrister Iftikhar Gillani, MLA Dr. Mustafa Bashir, Chairman of committee Secretary physical planning and housing, senior member board of revenue, secretary law and secretary works.
It has been also noticed that due to negligence of past government and nepotism by present government, this housing scheme project delayed and remain still un-solved.
