Islamabad: (Parliament Times) The president of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Ahmed Khan on Monday left for a week-long official visit to USA to attend OIC foreign minister’s moot to be held on the sidelines of the 72nd session of UN General Assembly.
According to a press statement issued here on Monday the AJK president is scheduled to address OIC’s Kashmir contact group meeting in New York. Besides other engagements Sardar Masood Ahmed Khan will meet foreign ministers of Islamic countries, senior officials of the UN and OIC.
During his visit the AJK president will apprise the OIC’s Kashmir contact group of the worsening political and human rights situation in Indian held territory of Jammu and Kashmir with special reference to India’s nefarious designs intended to change demographic complexion of the disputed territory.
Prior to his departure at Islamabad Airport the AJK president said that in view of the fast changing world scenario the UN and OIC sessions have assumed great significance. He said that there was a dire need that international community should adopt a categorical stance on the genocide of Muslims in Myanmar and Indian occupied Kashmir. He said Kashmiri expatriate community settled in America can play vital role in seeking an early and amicable solution to Kashmir dispute.
