ISLAMABAD: The 52nd death anniversary of Major Raja Abdul Aziz Bhatti (Nishan-e-Haider) would be observed on Tuesday (today).
According to program, the floral wreath would be laid on his grave and fateha be offered. Special prayer ceremonies would be held across the country to pay tribute to martyr .
He commanded the Pakistani troops in the Pakistan-India war in 1965 at Barki Sector in Lahore. He kept fighting for 48 hours and inflicted great losses on the Indian troops. The soldier embraced martyrdom after he was hit by a tank fire.
Major Raja Aziz Bhatti was honoured with the prestigious Nishan-e-Haider for his services to the country.
