Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik, has strongly denounced the attack on illegally detained senior APHC leader and the Democratic Party (DFP) Chief, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, in Delhi.
Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar termed the attack on Shabbir Ahmed Shah as an act of hooliganism. He said that the incident actually showed Indian hatred against democracy and human norms which was highly condemnable.
“If any harm is inflicted to any of the Kashmiri prisoners languishing in jails and police stations, the responsibility of aggravation in situation will lie on shoulders of Indian rulers,†he warned.
Meanwhile, the DFP Vice President, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar in a statement condemned the attack on party chairman, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, by the activists of Hindu extremist organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Patiala Court police lockup. He said that such vile tactics by the extremists could not deter pro-freedom leaders from pursuing their struggle for legitimate political and democratic rights.
“Murderous attack amply demonstrates the fact that the DFP Chief has been left at the mercy of criminals. DFP had voiced its serious concern and warned Indian authorities about his detention and threat to his life in the custody. It is a deep rooted conspiracy to kill Shabbir Ahmed Shah. RSS and BJP had a notorious track record of attacking and manhandling Hurriyat leaders,†he said.
Mehmood Ahmed Saghar criticized the Indian government for implicating Kashmiri political leaders and activists in fictitious cases, and demanded early release of Shabbir Shah and other Hurriyat leaders. He appealed to the world human rights organizations to take serious notice of the attack on Shabbir Shah and use their good offices to ensure his full protection and early release.
