Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) In line with policy of reducing patients load in major hospitals, Punjab health ministry has handed over 6 municipal dispensaries of Rawalpindi city to District health authority (DHA).
According to media reports, these six dispensaries were upgraded 7 years before and the doctors and paramedical staff was appointed therein.
The process of upgradation of these 6 municipal dispensaries including Dhook Hassu, Dhook Matkiaal, Dhook Ratta, Mohin Pura, Millat Colony, and Telli Muhallah was started under former Punjab Assembly member Shehryar Riaz . Under this project new buildings were provided to these dispensaries and additional constructions were made in the dispensaries where needed. All the facilities of Gynae , Paeds ward, ultra sound machines and mother-child health care were provided in these dispensaries.
However these dispensaries could not be made functional due to lack of doctors and paramedic staff but now after appointment of lady doctors, LHV, ward boy, Ward servant, Watch man, and sanitary worker on one vacant seats, these dispensaries have become functional and have been handed over to DHA.
It has been directed to ensure provision of all medical facilities in these municipal dispensaries and completion of under construction work in Akaal Garh and Amar Pura dispensaries as soon as possible.
