Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) Kashmiris living in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Indian occupied Kashmir and all over the world on Tuesday observed the 70th Independence Day of India as a black day.
In this regard, protest rallies and functions conveyed a message to the international community that India had usurped the Kashmiris’ inalienable right to self-determination. A central public gathering was held in the State capital [Muzaffarabad] under the auspices of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell with AJK PM Raja Farooq Haider in the chair.
AJK ministers Noreen Arif,Sardar Farooq Sakindar,Shaukat Shah,members Assembly Abdul Rasheed Turabi,Naseema Wani ,record secretary Pakistan Peoples Party AJK Shaukat Javed Mir ,Mushtaq ul Islam and other speakers also expressed solidarity with the people of Occupied Kashmir. The prime minister and other speakers expressed solidarity with the oppressed people of Kashmir. Raja Farooq Haider said the Kashmiris had celebrated Pakistan’s Independence Day in the occupied Kashmir by flouting curfew and other restrictions.
Referring to Kashmiris’ unconditional love for Pakistan Khan said Kashmiris celebrated the Independence Day of Pakistan with great enthusiasm by staging forceful pro-Pakistan rallies and demonstrations and hoisting the Pakistani flags in every nook and corner of the occupied Kashmir. “Thousands of people defied curfew and took to the streets in Kulgam, Islamabad, Pulwama, Bandipora and other districts and raised high-pitched pro-freedom and pro-Pakistan slogans,†he said.
He said that we, with help of Pakistan would foil the Indian conspiracy to abolish the article 35 A and 370 of Indian constitution which grants the disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir a separate identity from its others states and regions. He said Issue of Jammu and Kashmir was yet to be resolved in accordance with the United Nations resolutions.
“We would take up the Issue with United Nations Security Council through government of Pakistan which is also a party to the Issue, Kashmiri leadership would soon have a meeting with officials of Pakistan Foreign Office in this regard,” he said.
Later a big rally was also carried out to the Burhan Wani Chowk. The participants of the rally chanted slogans against Indian illegal occupation.
A resolution was also passed by the gathering demanding right to self determination accordance with the United Nations resolutions for the people of Kashmir.
