Islamabad: (Parliament Times) Capital Development Authority has decided to setup ‘Azadi Park’ in Islamabad’s Red Zone area while construction machinery has been mobilized towards development site.
According to sources, Federal government has decided to convert the greenbelt into ‘Azadi Park’ in Red-zone. CDA workers have been ordered to remove the barricades, containers and barbered wires located in D-Chowk, which were installed to hamper the rallies and public gatherings.
The government will spend millions of rupees from national exchequer on the construction of this park where special ceremonies would be held in connection with Independence Day.
Online was informed that a special walking track would likely be constructed for walk.
When Online News Agency contacted Superintendent of Police, Sheikh Zubair, he said that orders have been issued for the removal of container, barricades and barbered wires permanently.
Meanwhile, CDA Spokesperson said that CDA has started removing the container, barricades and barbered wires placed permanently, while a tender of the project would be issued in next week for the construction of project.
