LAHORE: Newly elected chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Najam Sethi left for Sri Lanka late Thursday to attend meeting of Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in Colombo.Speaking to Geo News ahead of his departure from Lahore airport, Sethi said the two-day conference will bring important discussions to the table. He said the moot will, among other matters, decide about the hosting venue of the Under-19 Asia Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Bengaluru, India in November this year.Media reports earlier stated that the PCB would raise an objection to India hosting the Under-19 Asia Cup amid political tension between the two countries. On the much-awaited Pakistan-India series, Sethi assured he would be holding talks with officials from the Board of Control for Cricket in India in this regard.
He also affirmed that the PCB would make efforts to arrange for the last few matches of Sri Lankan series to be played in Pakistan.
Sethi, after being elected PCB chairman for a three-year term earlier this week, has vowed to bring international cricket back to the country after years of isolation. Barring a limited-over series against Zimbabwe in 2015, Pakistan has not hosted foreign squads since a militant attack targeted the visiting Sri Lankan team in 2009.
