Muzaffarabad: Educational institutions throughout the state are lacking basic health facilities including clean drinking water and sanitation system.
The proportion of schools to colleges in Azad Kashmir is less than 0.025%, which is alarming that there are more than 6 thousand government schools and only 130 colleges.
Strength of students in government schools are more than 0.6 million.
As per government figures, there are 62 percent schools having no any facility of clean drinking water.
Overall in AJK, around 74% schools do not have the facility of washrooms and sanitation system; more of them are girls schools and colleges.
One of the students in school Rubab told this correspondent that due to un availability of washroom in our school, we don’t drink water before coming to school.
