Karachi: The Director General Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation, Waqas Ali Mehmood, along with other Directors of the department/agency today handed over the possession certificates of 519 plots to Federal Government Employees in Karachi under the Gulzar-e- Hijri scheme of KDA.
Director General Housing Foundation while addressing the allottees on the occaission mentioned that Government of Sind during 1989 has allocated 115.18 acres for Federal Government Employees in various sectors of KDA Scheme-33, Gulzar-e-Hijri. During 1992, Phase – I of the scheme was launched on 22.75 acres wherein 219 plots of different categories were prepared under a Master Plan prepared and approved by the Planning and Development Department, Government of Sindh. Later on, the Phase – II of the scheme was launched in February, 1999, over an area of 31.39 acres, wherein 300 plots of various categories were included.
For this purpose a Master Plan was prepared and approved in 2006. The costs for the plots of Phase – I & II have been paid and the land has been leased out in the name of Housing Foundation. All of the 519 plots have been booked and the sub-leasing in favor of allottees is in progress, out of which 400 have been completed. Today the Director General, Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation, distributed the certificates of possession among the 519 allottees at the Karachi office of the foundation.
