Islamabad: (Parliament Times) Voicing his concern over the international community’s indifference towards the unending miseries of Kashmiri people, the president of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Ahmed Khan has said that it was quite unfortunate that world community has maintained a deafening silence over Kashmiris’ systematic genocide and war crimes being committed by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.
The AJK president Masood Khan said this while addressing a seminar, which was held under the aegis of Rizvia Foundation and the Iranian Embassy here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion the president said that India occupation forces deployed in length and breadth of the region were blinding Kashmiri youth by showering the bullets and pellets on them. Besides usurping the political rights of the people of Kashmir he said that India has imposed severe restrictions on the religious gatherings and people were not even allowed exercise their religious duties.
Terming it as an infringement of religious rights he said that India has crossed all limits of savagery and barbarism in Kashmir by choking the voices of dissent, showering bullet and pellets on peaceful protesters. After the martyrdom of Burhan Muzaffar Wani, he said that Indian occupation forces unleashed rein of terror by resorting indiscriminate firing and use of excessive force against Kashmiris. “Following the Burhan Wani’s martyrdom last year, innocent and defenseless Kashmiris have been ruthlessly killed by Indian army, they were targeted as if huntsmen shot at birds during a hunting seasonâ€, he said.
He was of the view that international community was silent over the gross human rights violations in Kashmir because of their own geo-strategic, geopolitical and economic interests with India. Instead of getting influenced by India he said that the world community must get influenced by the unprecedented sacrifices, valor, and the resilience shown by the people of Kashmir during their struggle against foreign occupation.
Stressing the need for complete unanimity amongst the Muslim Countries he said that Muslims around the world were the victims of dispersion and discord. He said that the OIC being an important forum can play an important role in uniting the Muslim Ummah. The unity of Ummah he said was the only way to address the daunting challenges faced by the Muslim world.
Speaking on the occasion Khanam Tayyaba Bukhari condemned the Indian state terrorism in IHK. Lauding the sacrifices of Kashmir nation she said that the day was not far when Kashmiris would achieve their cherished goal.
