Islamabad: (Parliament Times) Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider has said parliamentary party of PML-N AJK has reposed full confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
Flanked by Speaker Legislative Assembly Shah Ghulam Qadir, Senior Minister Choudhary Tariq Farooq and Information Minister Raja Mushtaq Minhas, the AJK prime minister while addressing a news conference at Kashmir House on Monday, said that AJK government fully supports all the decisions of federal cabinet. About the prevailing political situation in the country, he suggested the opposition parties that it would be better to wait for 2018- general elections instead of creating hurdles in smooth functioning of the State. He maintained that some elements were trying to create hurdlers in order to create political instability in Pakistan. Fomenting political instability at this point of time he warned was bound to trigger anarchy in the country.
Farooq Haider said that government of AJK would support PML-N in 2018 general elections because Pakistan needed a dynamic leadership like Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. He said that trial in joint Investigation in Panama papers case should be fair and transparent. He was of the view that, “Any kind of instability in Pakistan may cause hurdles in development processâ€. Prime Minister said,” We will stand firmly with our leader and assure him our full supportâ€. He expressed the optimism that that justice will ultimately prevail under the jurisdictions of Supreme Court of Pakistan.
To a question, he said a constitutional Committee was working under the Chairmanship of Sartaj Aziz Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs for amendment in Azad Kashmir Act 74. About the role of Kashmir committee he said, “Kashmir Committee was working in accordance with its mandate, and it was the responsibility of Pakistan to highlight the Kashmir issue on international levelâ€. Khan said that he holds all political parties in high esteem saying that all parties must continue extending their support to Kashmir cause.
Responding to another query, he said under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), AJK had got an economic zone including the construction of roads at Mirpur, Mangla, Muzafarabad and Mansehra. “I have also talked with Kale-Taobutt road and construction of Tunnel from Shontar to Gilgit which would in order to reduce the distance†he added.
Terming the CPEC as a game changer, he said that it would help bring socio-economic prosperity in the country. Raja Farooq also denounced in strong terms the Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir. Innocent civilians, he said were being arrested by Indian forces and later killed in interrogation centers and fake encounters.
The people of AJK he said had always rendered sacrifices for Pakistan and would continue in future as well. “Indian government is engaged in negative propaganda against Pakistan and has been hatching conspiracy against the country at internal and external levelâ€, he said. Over two million Kashmiries were living across Pakistan, he said adding that 0.5 million peoples were also living on Line of Control (LoC).
Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League (N) AJ&K, Cabinet and parliamentary party leaders reposed full confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and vowed to stand by the leadership. Pertinently, the joint meeting of Cabinet, parliamentary party and PML (N) office bearers was summoned to express complete solidarity with the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif here at Kashmir House on Monday. The federal minister for Kashmir affairs Choudhary Bergis Tahir was chief guest on the occasion.
Addressing the meeting the prime minister Raja Farooq Haider said fomenting political instability in the country was a plot of the enemies of Pakistan. “Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family have nothing to do with the corruption they only served the country when ever got the opportunityâ€, he added.
“During the past four years Pakistan’s economy witnessed a positive turnaround and it was fast growing in the face of numerous challenges inherited by PMLN government in 2013â€, he said adding that speedy work was under way on various projects under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which once completed would immensely benefit Pakistan in particular and the region in general.
Chudhary Tariq Farooq the senior cabinet minister also spoke on the occasion. The meeting through a unanimous resolution reposed full confidence in Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s leadership.
