Sargodha: (Parliament Times) A program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural affairs (ECA), U.S Department of state and Implemented by IREX, provide grants to alumni of the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program in Pakistan organize and implement events or activities that are community service oriented and benefit an underserved population in their local community.
It’s a self-defense awareness program target more than 500 college and university students in 3 days addressing the girls’ issues and deal them with effective skills. It’s an awareness program which focuses more on practical aspect of self-defense along with how to be confident in the pace of world and live properly and take protected actions in any mishap or tragedy.
Women in Pakistan are working day and night with men to make this country more prosperous. If confidence building is done properly and to make fear broke down, it will be helpful for girls who came from villages and small towns to live with more confidence and effective. Key points of this initiative are to focus on the confidence building, to facilitate females with latest self-defense skills, to help them deal with any hard time and right for fight, and make them able to talk about their fear and weakness to overcome.
This initiative helps girls to learn self-defense for hard times and Open mike platform to talk about their inner fears and strains. Self-defense campaign is about 1.5 hours session, in which team has given the first aid training, along with brochure guide, certificates, gifts, evaluation form, displaying of self-help & awareness tips and individual and group activity. Tanzeela Bashir (Global UGrad Alumna) comes up with 5 volunteers to visit 3 colleges and academies in the month of June.
Team did his best to provide Top knowledge of things that every woman should know about personal safety and Breaking down the fear that would help other to regain confidence and take part effectively and it leads to mental growth and further such initiatives to take for our girls.
