Islamabad: (Parliament Times) The president of Pakistan Peoples Party (Kashmir chapter) Ch. Latif Akbar has said that the federal government has been ignoring Kashmir issues after getting trapped in Panama ‘net’ and other internal issues.
The PPP president made these remarks while addressing an Iftar Dinner served in honour of Kashmiri journalists here on Thursday. Speaking briefly on the occasion Ch. Latif said that it was quite unfortunate that instead of observing solidarity with their brethren in occupied Kashmir the AJK government was hectically engaged in defending its corrupt leader. He said that in view of the mass uprising in Kashmir government should pool their efforts to highlight the plight of Kashmiris at international level.
Regarding the educational package, he said that the government has been committing contempt court. He said that in the name of NTS the educated youth of the region were being misguided by the government.
He said that in order to get result of its own choice government was lending hefty sums of money to institutions like NTS. He said that those who keep harping on the so-called merit system have been violating the merit by choosing people of their own choice under the garb of NTS.
He said that during NTS examination held at Palandari recently a kin (son) of influential political personality under the supervision of examination authorities was allowed to prepare his test paper in a separate room. The incident, he said, had exposed the government’s tall claims of merit and transparency.
Chudhary Latif was of the view that likewise there huge corruption was going on in Prime Minister’s infrastructure development program. He said that the government has committed a serious blunder for not spending development budget on development projects before the end of financial year.
The Iftar Dinner was attended by the PPP leaders Ch. Pervez Asharf, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Sardar Javed Ayoub, Shaheen Kousar Dar, whereas the AKNS president Amer Mehboob, KJF president Abid Khursheed, Daily Parliament Times editor in chief Javed Iqbal, Raja Kafeel, Shahzad Rathore, Khwaja Mateen, Ejaz Abasi and others were present on the occasion.
