AJK premier, information minister felicitate AKNS office bearers

Islamabad: (Parliament Times) The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan on Monday felicitated the newly elected President Amer Mehboob, Secretary General Sarfaraz Khawaja and other office bearers of All Kashmir News Papers Society (AKNS).

The AJK premier expressed the optimism that the AKNS would play its much needed role to strengthen the state media. He said that his government believed in a strong and vibrant state-media saying that appropriate steps would be taken in this regard thereby taking on board the AKNS and other media organization.

He said that one percent of development budget allocated for the media was being transferred to Information department and further steps aimed at strengthening the state-media would be taken after due consultation with all stakeholders including media-men and News Paper owners. Terming a strong and vibrant state media as a guarantor to the success of Kashmiris’ freedom struggle, AJK premier expressed the hope that AKNS would play significant role in promoting Kashmir cause at international level.

Meanwhile, AJK minister for information Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas in his separate message felicitated the newly elected office bearers of the All Kashmir News Papers Society (AKNS). He expressed the hope that AKNS apex body would become a strong voice for the voiceless victims of Indian state terrorism.
