In our contemporary world, we see many mega events that are held to propagate the Deen. The question is what are they achieving? Do they bring about the needed change in the system! For how long are we going to just talk about Islam? And what will this talk achieve if there is no Islam to see around us. How can we proclaim “Allahu Akbar, over our loudspeakers and then run our political matters, our economics, our judiciary and our social order according to man made system? While the mega events may change some individuals, the system will remain unchanged. The things the speakers say are good, but what about the things they don’t say? The Prophets used to admonish people about the evils that were rampant in their society, not in some other society. Prophet Loot (Peace Be upon Him) would have been very popular, if He talked about all evils, except sodomy. Prophet Shoaib (Peace Be upon Him) would have been popular, if He hadn’t talked about dishonesty in Business. Yet, they addressed the very evils that were rampant among their people. It’s time to look inside our hearts do we love and fear someone above Allah Suban-tu-Allah. How certain are we of the Akhirah? Is Jannah worth any sacrifices?
