Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan,Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan and Information Minister Raja Mushtaq Minhas have stated that the AJK government believes in the dignity of labour and believes that a prosperous work-force can enable State to compete in a globalized market environment.
In their messages on Labour Day they said “We are celebrating May Day with a resolve to reaffirm our commitment to the dignity of labour and to pay tribute to the valiant and heroic struggle of the workers of Chicago who sacrificed their lives for the fundamental rights of their fellow workers.
Labour, no doubt, is the backbone of the industry and keep its wheel running,they added.
Masood Khan said It is the worker community, who due to hard work, have enabled the economy to maintain high economic growth, massive production and high levels of productivity. He said the thousands of workers from AJK State serving in Middle East and European countries,UK and America and send billions dollars in shape of remittances annually.
The Prime Minister Farooq Haider said PML N is striving devotedly for the rights and welfare of workers since its inception.
Highlighting the major initiatives, Farooq Haider said Minimum wage for unskilled labour has been enhanced from Rs.13000 per month to Rs.14000 per month.
