Rawalakot: The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has said that people of Hornamera have played vital role in the region’s development, progress and prosperity besides rendering supreme sacrifices in liberating the territory.
The AJK president made these assertions while addressing a reception hosted in his honour by the people of his native area here on Saturday. The reception ceremony was also addressed by Sardar Fazal Khan, Sardar Ajmal, Advocate Akhtar Hussain and others.
Referring to Gahazi Millat Sardar Muhammad Ibraheem Khan, the AJK president said that Ghazi Millat not only played significant role to rid the people of region from the servitude of Hindus but also established an independent government in the liberated territory of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He said that his grandfather Moulana Meer Alam had served the people of the area and enjoyed a great respect for his services in the field of education.He said that people of the Hornameera area also played their key role in the freedom movement and rendered great sacrifices for the protection of rights of the people of Azad Kashmir. Like other parts of the state, he said people of the area have every right to have all the basic facilities and the state must provide basic amenities including education, roads, and other facilities to the people of the mountainous area. Regarding the dilapidated condition of roads he said the lack of road infrastructure in the area speaks volumes about the backwardness of the area. He said that Prime Minister Raja Farooq Hyder Khan has recently visited the area hoping that necessary steps would be taken to fulfill the people’s long-pending demand regarding the construction of metallic road and link roads. He said that construction of metallic road, dispensary and shortage of teachers at Middle School were main demands of the people. He assured the people of the area that all out efforts would be made to address the problems faced by the people of area.
