Islamabad: Urging artists to highlight Kashmir issue through their art work the Chairperson Peace and Culture Mishal Malik has said that artist can play vital role in highlighting the plight of Kashmiris who have been reeling under yoke of Indian imperialism.
Mishal Malik the wife of veteran Kashmir liberation leader Muhammad Yasin Malik made these remarks while addressing painting exhibition held in connection with Chief Minister’s Talent Hunt Program at Rawalpindi Arts Council here on Tuesday. Naheed Manzoor and Resident Director of RAC Waqar Ahmed were also present on the occasion.
Stressing the need for peaceful settlement of K-dispute Mishal Malik, said that success of CPEC also depends on resolving of Kashmir issue. She expressed the hope that Kashmir will be a part of Pakistan very soon. She also congratulated the winners of the competition.
Speaking on the occasion Naheed Manzoor said that Mishal Malik was playing active role for highlighting Kashmir issue. Resident Director of RAC Waqar Ahmed also briefed the chief guest about Chief Minister Talent Hunt.
In the painting competition, the top three artists were given cash rewards of Rs.150,000, Rs.100,000 and Rs.75,000 respectively. Encouragement reward of Rs.10,000 each was given to ten artists of Rawalpindi region. Earlier, the competitors were given a portrait of Ustad Allah Bux to paint on the canvas provided by this Council. Top three artists would take part in the provincial level competition to be held in Lahore.
Meanwhile, shields were given to all participants of the competition. Asma Bibi got first position, Sonam Nawaz secured second position while Shumaila got third position. Ten awards of encouragement were given to Asher Masih, Numaira Javed, Wahaj Ahmed, Aleena Azhar, Anum Akram, Asifa Jabeen, Sadia Naurin, Sania Imtiaz, Fatima Naveed and Tayyaba Hassan.
