AJK Assembly: Opposition lawmakers tore apart agenda copies

Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) In AJK legislative assembly some legislators hailing from opposition benches during the session here on Tuesday tore apart copies of the day’s agenda and scattered them on the floor of the assembly.

According to reports in article 5 and 6 of the today’s agenda copies contained sacred stuff regarding the “Namoos-e-Risalat” of beloved prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW). Terming it as a serious offense, legislators present in the session demanded the Legislative Assembly speaker to take stern action against the opposition lawmakers involved in the “reckless act”.

Meanwhile, the speaker under 205 and 206 of the rules and procedure of the legislative body had suspended the membership of the accused opposition lawmakers involved in the misdemeanor. A seven member committee was also constituted that after conducting thorough investigation into the matter would submit a report to the assembly speaker.

The committee comprised of Sardar Farooq Ahmed Tahir the deputy speaker of the legislative assembly, Law Minster Raja Nisar Ahmed Khan, MLA Sardar Khalid Ibraheem Khan, Malik Muhammad Nawaz Khan MLA, Chudhary Masood Khalid MLA, Ahmed Raza Qadri and Pir Syed Ali Raza Bukhari.
