Islamabad: (Parliament Times) Expressing serious concerns over the deteriorating political and human rights situation in Indian held territory of Jammu and Kashmir the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan has said that occupation forces in the UN disputed territory were using Kashmiris as human shields.
“Extremely shocking and heart-wrenching video clips and pictures on social media speak volumes of Indian forces’ brutalities in the regionâ€, Khan made these remarks while talking to AJK premier Raja Farooq Hyder Khan who met him here at Kashmir House on Monday. During the meeting the duo discussed a number of issues relating to Kashmir with special reference to the report published by the amnesty international.
Regarding the Panama verdict both the leaders urged the political parties of Pakistan to respect the Supreme Court decision saying that political parties should desist from creating any kind of political upheaval in the country. Instead of pushing the country into chaos by holding protests they said that political parties should demonstrate high level of responsibility. “It has been witnessed that Indian brutalities in Kashmir intensify whenever Pakistani peoples’ attention from Kashmir gets diverted under the pretext of any political issueâ€, Khan said adding that it was high time that the atrocities and plight of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir should be highlighted at international level. He, however, maintained that it was prime responsibility of the government of Pakistan, AJK and Kashmiri Diaspora community to sensitize world community besides pleading and promoting the Kashmir cause at international level.
Denouncing the stepped-up Indian state terrorism in Kashmir both the leaders said that world community should take effective notice of the worsening rights situation in the region. Appreciating the Amnesty International Report on Kashmir they said that Indian authorities were using age-old tactics to suppress the voice dissent in Kashmir thereby targeting Kashmir youth, students, journalists and intellectuals.
Expressing solidarity with Kashmiri journalist they said that the journalist community of the IHK was playing significant role in exposing Indian brutalities in the region.
